Man faces felony weapons charges after shots fired at Union Center

A Union Center man is facing multiple felony charges after an argument and a report of shootings.
Authorities say Carson Vanco, 20, was arrested after an investigation into Sunday’s incident on Spring Street.
Vanco was charged with four counts of criminal possession of a weapon. He was also charged with criminal possession of a firearm, criminal possession of stolen property and manufacture of methamphetamine.
According to New York State Police, investigators seized illegal firearms, including an assault rifle and a disguised homemade weapon. Vanco was also found in possession of brass knuckles and methamphetamine.
Vanco was arraigned and sent to Broome County Jail without bond.
State police say it is illegal to discharge a weapon within 500 feet of an occupied building.
